School Bus Driver Hit in Chest by Debris, Keeps Students Safe in Life-Threatening Incident

On February 7, 2025, Stewart O’Leary, a school bus driver for Northshore School District in Bellevue, Washington, faced a life-threatening situation while transporting the North Creek High School girls’ basketball team. While traveling on Interstate 405, a metal bar—likely from another vehicle—suddenly flew through the bus’s windshield, striking O’Leary in the chest.
